Glasson Recognizes The Importance of Work

In the forward of Chuck Collins’ book Born On Third Base, Morris Pearl, chair of Patriotic Millionaires, asks: “Did I work especially hard? Maybe a little, sometimes. Most of my work involved sitting in an office reading and writing emails and talking on the telephone. Did I work harder than the guy who had to connect the hoses to the fire hydrant in the snow or the woman who had to smile while schlepping pitchers of beer around all night? Not really.”

I value Cathy Glasson’s natural ability to recognize the inherent dignity of all people, the worth of work and the importance of a thriving environment. As governor of Iowa, Cathy will implement universal health care, enact a $15 minimum wage and safeguard Iowa’s waterways.

She knows that a society is strong when health care is accessible and when widespread economic security overrules any individual’s compulsion to make a multi-million-dollar killing overnight.

It is unacceptable that the public and the environment are routinely taken advantage of in the name of profit. I believe that if economic growth means destroying the elements that are essential to our mental and physical well-being; it’s time to do politics differently.

Cathy Glasson will not allow corporations to jeopardize the health of Iowans. I look forward to coming home to this Iowa.
